AMANDA HUXTABLE - Director/Producer
Amanda Huxtable is a Yorkshire based collaborative artist and has enjoyed making theatre as an Actor, Writer and Director for the past eighteen years. Her most recent creative journey has included working as Creative Director developing a film with young people for Proper Job Theatre projects, Co- Directing on The Dressmaker’s Gift by Anita Franklin for the International Write Now Festival in Liverpool and directing for the Belgrade Theatre Community and Education Department in Coventry. She has had the pleasure of working with a number of Theatre Companies and Arts Organisation over the years including Satellite Arts, Red Ladder, and Chol Theatre. Amanda also formerly served as the Artistic Director of Yorkshire Women Theatre Company in Leeds.Amanda is a graduate of the inaugural Pinnacle 10, a pioneering Creative Leadership training programme for Black Artists in the Yorkshire region. She also serves as Vice -Chair of Governors at a Kirklees Junior School.
MARCIA LAYNE - Writer/Producer
Marcia is an award winning playwright whose plays include Off Camera which won the Alfred Fagon Award, The Yellow Doctress & Legacy all for West Yorkshire Playhouse. Other credits include Sister Esteem (Paines Plough / Tour), Lost & Found (Yorkshire Women Theatre) and Somebody's Son. Somebody's Son was showcased at the Library Theatre, Manchester at the decibel showcase and will tour Spring/Summer 2012. She was commissioned by the BBC to write an afternoon play 'The Barber and the Ark' which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2010. The play was shortlisted for the Sanford St Martin and Imison award.She was involved with the Performing for Success schools programme with Sheffield Theatres and was part of an artist delegation who went to Grahamstown Festival in South Africa.
Marcia has worked as a local government Arts Officer and prior to that a Multicultural Officer at Sheffield Hallam University Union of Students.
